And, surprisingly enough, the junkyard project got sold. I found it enjoyable to reuse materials and forms.

To Kuopio and back

On the gorgeous road to boring Kuopio. Finland is best visited in winter. It's cold, but it's amazing.

The van didn't have any heating and on top of that the windshield was cracked. So, we froze and we got crappy photos.

Above here is the driver driving.

Even after the disappointing and highly confusing road-wise city of Kuopio, the trip was worth it. It's all about the process.

Snowy Finland

The winter is finally here. After months of annoying cloudy half-assed cold, it is -21 and the sun is ripping the sky apart. Time to take the camera and every wool cloth possible out.

It's cold, it's dry and it feels nice to walk in the snow. This is the time when you actually don't appreciate your camera being made out of some metal alloy. You also finally realize how good were the old cameras with their huge dials.

One hour already. Time to go home. I decide to take a shortcut through the lake, then I stumble and see water coming around my foot. The natives here tell me that these are just "water pockets" or whatever, but I was born with a survival instinct, so I head back and take the long path.

A few shots from the recent trip to Helsinki. A nice city, but that is pretty much it. I've seen better. Of course, that might be because we only stayed for 2 days, but I have the feeling a few more wouldn't change my opinion.
{The photos are quite heavily retouched for two reasons: I wanted to experiment (not really happy with the results) and the weather was total s**t)}

This above is the train station, designed by some guy whose name I forgot.

As you can see the downtown has some nice buildings. On the picture below you can see an alley which is completely covered. A bit like the tunnels in Montreal, just with more light (in the short moments when there's actually a sun in Finland).

They also have nice orange trucks in Helsinki.

And some more buildings in the center.

And there were ships in the water.
